Lisa Van Herik, MSW : Architectural color consultant
To help you get to know me a bit, first of all I've been an artist all my life. I have an extensive background in interior design, surface design (making patterns for use on wallpaper, rugs, etc.), metalsmithing and abstract painting. I am an MSW with two years post master's training in psychiatric social work with an emphasis on the psychological affects of color. I am also a certified architectural color consultant.
Home decor has always been a first love of mine.......as a painter, I can tell you that I tend to approach rooms and homes just as I would a painting or a blank canvas: elements and color need to flow in a balanced fashion to be most visually pleasing. What do you want your rooms, your home to say to you and others? How do plan on conveying that? Color is the element that can make your home flow and reflect the colors that most represent you.
I have helped many people adjust to the new surroundings of a new home and that's often led me to working on projects that have both intrigued and challenged me.
